What are Chakras?

Corresponding with the many types of healing modalities when it comes to energy work is that of the 7 chakra points. Practitioners may choose to energetically focus on a particular chakra when a recipient may be having trouble in a particular area corresponding with that specific chakra.

The seven chakras are believed to correspond with various points in our bodies where our energy flows. Below are the different chakras along with additional information pertaining to each chakra. There are tons of books on the subject and to not be too exhaustive, I'll provide a quick reference section to help you better understand briefly.

1. The Crown Chakra- Located at the top of the head, the crown chakra is represented by the color purple, and corresponds with spiritual connection, awareness, unity and enlightenment. 

2. Third Eye Chakra- Located between our eyes, the third eye chakra is represented by the color indigo, and corresponds with intuition, insight, inner seeing and higher awareness.

3. Throat Chakra- Located in the throat, the throat chakra is represented by the color blue and corresponds with our ability to communicate and speak our true feelings.

4. Heart Chakra- Located in the center of our chest, the heart chakra is represented by the color green and corresponds with compassion, connection, emotional balance, inner peace, joy and gratitude.

5. Solar Plexus Chakra- Located in the stomach area, the solar plexus chakra is represented by the color yellow and corresponds with confidence, personal power, and a sense of control.

6. Sacral Chakra- Located in the lower abdomen, the sacral chakra is represented by the color orange and corresponds with pleasure, creativity and emotional expression.

7. Root Chakra- Located in the base of the spine, the root chakra is represented by the color red and corresponds with survival, safety, grounding, stability, and a sense of belonging.
